My name is Tereza Moreno, my husband, Oscar Moreno, passed away in 0ctober, 2021, leaving his wife and kids devastated from his departure.  He was on a ventilator for about 28 days, was given so many drugs his body gave up.  He was admitted to the hospital due to COVID-19, and never made it back home.  Sometimes, I wonder if taking him to the hospital was the best choice.  Maybe he would b still here with us if he didn’t go there.

He came home from work and I took him to the hospital.  Of course, the hospital did not allow me to go in with him.  They gave him so many drugs, he was vented for thirty days.  His oxygen levels were too low for two or three days, so they transferred him to ICU.  I was finally allow to see him in ICU, but it was behind windows.  We were not allowed to go in to him or even touch him – unless they thought he was near death.

I was alone everyday behind that window watching him not being able to reach out to him.  A couple of days after that, another wife came to the window to watch her husband, too.  Since I had been there before her and had seen what they were doing to my husband, and she was not understanding the things that were going on, so I was able to explain to her what they were doing to her husband.

Because I hadn’t received the COVID-19 shot, I was required to get it in order to enter the hospital.  Otherwise, I would not have gotten it.  The hospital coerced me to get it to see my husband.  Oddly enough, my two children who were old enough to see their dad after he passed, were not required to get the shot to enter the hospital.  It seems, they made up their own rules to their liking.

My husband was so drugged up.  They gave him six or seven different drugs.  I ask myself, “Why didn’t I ask more about what they were giving him?”  Don’t you go to the hospital to have them do right?  I didn’t know what to do, and I just don’t know if I could have done more.

They told me, “We’re going to give him this medicine which causes kidney failure.  After my husband had remdesivir, his body began shutting down.  He had kidney failure, and they said he was going to need dialysis.  He never came out of it.

My husband was a beautiful, loving husband who loved his kids.  He was a funny guy who loved to cook on the grill and have the whole neighborhood over to enjoy it.

His three kids miss him very much.  We think he was murdered by the hospital.  My family has taken his death very hard.  Our ten year-old has tried suicide twice.  The last attempt was Father’s Day 2023.  It’s been hard.  His family had a difficult time, too.  The entire family structure has changed.  We’re trying to live with out him; trying to make sense of it all.

Hold your family members tight, ’cause you don’t know whether they’ll come back or not.  Little things don’t matter.  Tell everyone you love them.  Before he was vented, he called me and made me promise to take care of or children.  He was scared and called his mom and best friend to say, “I don’t want to die.”
