I haven’t gone through the medical records yet, but I do know that my husband was a very, very healthy active man.  He was only 53 and acted like he was in his twenties. In the 17 1/2 years that we were together, he only missed one day of work (not counting Covid).

He started feeling like he had a cold or allergies on Christmas Day, 2021. Usually, he just felt bad for a few days then he would be fine. He started having trouble breathing on January 4, 2022, so I took him to the ER at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, Ohio.  When we got there, I had to check him in because he was weak. They took him back to check him out, and they wouldn’t let me go with him – granted I did have Covid at the time, too, but I felt fine for the most part.

Once he was back there, no one bothered to let me know anything!!  He did have his phone with him and we were able to text, so that was the only way I knew they were admitting him.

He told me that they were going to give him “the R medicine.”  Todd wasn’t sure what it was called but he knew it was for Covid.) They were also giving him steroids and oxygen. We only had contact through texting and very little phone, because he was having so much trouble breathing.

The hospital was not allowing me in at all, even after I didn’t have Covid anymore. I would call the hospital daily to find out his condition. The nurses I talked to always made me feel like everything was fine and normal.  On Saturday January 8th we talked on the phone, and he sounded so much better!!!  Then the next day, he told me he had a blood clot in his arm and he couldn’t move his hand, and that he may have had a couple strokes.

By January 15th, he was in the ICU. and within a few days, he was put on the ventilator. The the hospital said we could come see him. The more I think about that the more odd it seems. 🤬

On January 27th, he was transported by ambulance to a different hospital, Miami Valley Hospital, supposedly to get better care. (In my opinion I think Clinton Memorial didn’t take very good care of him, and they should have sent him earlier.)  On January 29th, the doctor said he had no brain activity, and he pronounced him dead. I was given the option to keep him on life support, but Todd wouldn’t have wanted to live like that.
