Was the victim treated differently as a result of disclosing their vax status?: yes
How victim was treated differently after disclosing vax status:
Doug was rushed on a ventilator just 30 minutes after arriving at the hospital. He was doing fine on just a little oxygen. Did not even try the bipap or have a confirmed covid test.
Everyday the nurses would tell me he was getting better. Wrong
Name of Victim: Doug MacKenzie
Age: 54 years old
Date of onset of symptoms: 08/17/2021
First sought medical attention: 08/28/2021
Admitted to hospital: 08/28/2021
Treatment received at hospital: Treated poorly
Experience in hospital:
Asked to go home to his wife many times. Ventilated him immediately. Never called his wife, not one time. Never checked on him for the last 3 days of his life. His wife had to learn how to suction and take care of him on the ventilator.
I would love to tell you the story about my sweetheart. Doug was a new trucker and only on his third trip. 54 years old and built like an ox. 34 years in construction. We were thinking of retiring in 6 years and he wanted to find a less invasive job. He contracted covid somewhere along his journey and started to feel ill. Fell asleep driving the semi but yet drove on.
The semi company told him to lie and say the brakes failed or he would be responsible for the damage to the truck. This I have on text message. He told the trucking company on Monday that he was having a difficult time breathing and thought he had covid-19. They convinced him that he would lose his retainer, as he was an independent driver unless he came back home with the load. He tried.
He passed out on August 28th in Seguin, Texas (I am from Miami). There was another driver in the semi that he was training. Why that driver didn’t call 911 days earlier I will never know. This day, 911 responded to the truck stop and administered oxygen where his oxygen level immediately went back up in the 90s. Based on the EMT report he was speaking to them and told him his wife and daughter had tested positive today and that he’s been feeling ill for a couple of days. He told them he wanted to come home. He walked himself to the ambulance, they told him they were taking him to the hospital for an evaluation.
Hospital records show that is oxygen levels were still low but he was able to respond to simple commands. Blood work looked good. Within no time at all, while the EMTs were still there, they tried to vent him. He did not want to be vented. They forced it on him. The black and blue on his face told me that 10 days later. We all know what happens after they put you on a ventilator, paralytics, and fentanyl. PROTOCOL.
They allowed me to fly out after the 10-day quarantine. I spent 3 days with him and he passed on the forth. Been trying to get more medical records to no avail. I don’t know everything that happened. The doctor never told me much except my husband is critically ill. Everyday the nurses would tell me he was getting better. Wrong.
My husband and I were married 20 years on September 8th, 3 days before he passed. This has devastated Myself and our 17-year-old daughter.
