On 8/28/2020 I was feeling amazing, went to have a mandatory COVID test before a simple surgery.  The test was traumatic.  There’s a was a man in a full hazmat suit standing in what looked like an enclosed phone booth, with his arms sticking out plastic shoots, and he told me to stand on the dots in front and stand still while he put that long q-tip up my nose (on the side I have a deviated septum) and he twisted it and counted to 10 and he punctured the lining of my brain.  I knew something was terribly wrong right away, but I had no idea you could even leak brain fluid, so I brushed it off.  I began having severe anxiety and cognitive issues and I felt like I was dying from something so I started going to doctor after doctor telling them I felt like my life force was slipping out of me and that I was dying.  I told dr after dr that I was circling the drain.  My entire body changed shape and I lost all of my muscle and all of the fluid in my body.  I started having terrible, what I thought was a chronic sinus infection, and it wasn’t until I lost a tooth as a result of the loss of jaw bone from the spinal fluid eroding my jaw bone for two years, that I finally figured out I had a spinal fluid leak.  I never had fluid come out my nose like most leakers, until my tooth fell out, a year ago.  I had fluid pouring out my nose and eye for three weeks after the injury, but it stopped and started going into my jaw and face.  After I realized it I went straight to my primary who referred me to an ENT, who laughed in my face and said he would refer me to  a neurologist, which took a year to get into, but while waiting I went to Mayo in Rochester MN and started in the ER, they laughed at me and dismissed me.  They referred me to a headache specialist there, who laughed at and dismissed me, he sent me to a neurologist, same story, who sent me to a neurosurgeon, same story and then an ENT, who was the worst one who ridiculed me and laughed in my face and dismissed me and she said she would follow up with the neurologist to come up with a plan and get back to me and I never heard back.  I reached out and tried to get back in to see Dr Jeremy Cutsforth at Mayo and they said they would contact the neurologist I saw (Dr Garza), and they never got back to me.  I sent a request to be seen by Dr Garza through my Mayo my chart app and begged to be seen and I never heard back from them.  I finally got in to see the neurologist I was originally referred to and he didn’t laugh in my face, but he said it was impossible to have a leak from a COVID test, but I was very convicted and he was retiring, so he finally ordered me a cisternogram, which is a nuclear medicine test, which they performed incorrectly and I failed.  And now no one wants to see me as a result.  I do have three visits coming up that I am hopeful for.  I had all my six scans sent to the Stanford leak center and they must have found evidence on my MRI’s and CT scans, because they accepted me into their leak program.  This has stolen three and a half years of my life.  I was a thriving athletic happy light filled mother of two and had lots of friends, to dark, weak, empty, debilitated, lost and lonely person who lost most my friends and family and just sits here and waits to die.  I can’t take the constant dismissing and I have used up all of my energy on research and dr visits and trying to keep my life together.  This destroyed my life and left me with a severe case of PTSD and when I went to the dr to ask for help with that, she dismissed that too and tried giving me more drugs.  My story is long and detailed, but I have it all documented.  They can’t get away with stealing my soul.  I really hope and pray that if I ever get offered surgery to fix what they did, that my soul comes back and fully lives inside of me again and I can move on with life.
