Administered Remdesivir (Gilead)

Thomas was admitted after exhibiting COVID symptoms and going to the ER. He had a fever, cough, general weakness and congestion. He did not exhibit breathing issues. After a few days in the regular COVID unit (not ICU); we were told that he was doing better and would be able to go home the next day. We were told via phone that they were administering Remdesivir. The next day hospital staff reported his breathing got worse. He went down hill fast from there.
A nurse reported that he was receiving air and he kept taking the mask off of his face. My dad reported via video call that the oxygen flow through the mask was too fast and it made him choke and he was having trouble breathing. Because he kept taking the mask off, the nurse told us that they had to handcuff him to the bed to prevent him from removing the mask. On August 24, 2021, a nurse told us that they were going to intubate my father. He passed during the process of intubating him.
