My dad was in a group home. I went by on a Monday to check on him.  Did his nails and noticed he had a hard time breathing. Reported it to the group home and his NP. They did not do anything even though they said they would. Turns out everyone in the home had Covid.  I got medication including Ivermectin and was on my want to taking it to my dad but the group home called and said they were sending him by ambulance to the ER.

I went to the ER and got him checked in. Stayed several hours. Spoke with ER doctor Dr Johnson. Told him NO Remdesivir! It was an icy night in Texas so left about 5:30 as dad was sleeping. They told me it would be up to 40 hours in ER so I said I would come back in the am.  I called to check on him when I got home and he had been put in a room within 30 minutes.

Called the next morning and they said he was not eating and not awake and semi comatose. I told them it was not like him to not eat.  This went on for 2 days. It took me 2 days to get in touch with his doctor. He happened to mention they had him on  Remdesivir. I went ballistic and told him I told the ER doctor NO Remdesivir!  I called the CEO of the hospital. His assistant and the nurse in charge both called me. I told them what they had done and said that was medical malpractice.  But the damage had been done.

They did let me in his room daily after that. But he never ate or responded to any kind of therapy after that.  We spent 8 or 9 days in the hospital and then had to choose hospice as he was not eating and could not even lift his arm we asked to.  He never ate again. We took him back to the group home in hospice care.  He was still testing positive for Covid and did so until the next Thursday. He was 11 days in hospice where he thrashed around for days and days. We did a final Covid test the last Thursday he was alive as my sister has a handicapped  child and could not go visit him unless he was negative.  He passed on 2-22-22.
