Colleen’s Story
Colleen’s father, Donald was 77 years old and was in good health. He came down with Covid on January 6, 2021. On January 16th he ended up in Honors Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona. As usual, per the hospitals protocol, he was given remdesivir right off the bat. After the 5-day treatment of remdesivir, Donald’s health started failing. Meantime, his daughter was begging for him to get ivermectin and the doctor agreed to giving him some but only one dose.
Donald was not given proper nutrition and lost quite a bit of weight during his stay in the hospital. They were alternating between the bipap and cpap masks and he was staying stable until the effects of the remdesivir took effect and he went into afib.
Like the others Donald was isolated from his family and had no patient advocate. It took Colleen two weeks to talk to a doctor about her father, even though she would call two or three times a day. Her dad was not sleeping well and was malnourished, not a great combo for fighting off and illness. The hospital did finally let a priest in the room to do an anointing of the sick.
The doctors continually pushed the ventilator, but they refused to consent. Donald passed away on January 30, 2021. The hospital listed Covid 19 on his death certificate; however, Donald clearly was another remdesivir victim.
