I watched a story on OAN with Nurse Nicole Sirotek and it has encouraged me to email you. My husband Earl Clifford Butler IV passed away August 23, 2021 due to hospital protocol. My entire family had COVID, we are pretty sure it was the Delta variant but my husbands oxygen fell below 93 and we were told he needed hospital care.

He was in the hospital for nearly 2-1/2 weeks. I was not allowed to see him; however, we would text message. I would call the hospital several times a day for updates. My husband complained about not being fed for several days which I found odd. If your body is fighting a disease, I feel it needs energy to help too fight it off but I’m not in the medial field.

Another thing I found interesting is that they started giving him anxiety medicine which he never took ever. But the most shocking off all is that I got one call from one doctor his entire stay – I know the hospitals were overwhelmed with patients but I found it odd that they wanted my verbal permission to administer Remdesivir. I got the call around midnight, I had just fallen asleep 30 minutes before.

I pleaded with the doctor to give me 15 minutes to call someone – I had 2 doctor friends on stand by who said to call if I ever had a question but the doctor refused to all me 15 minutes. I was shocked! I said I need 15 minutes and I’ll call you back. He said nope, I’ll send it thru and if the pharmacy fills it, he will get the treatment.

My husband was administered Remdesivir and his condition dramatically changed, he went from being on the bi-pap, to going down to a high-low machine to something happened and he signed off to be on a ventilator. Soon the nurses told me he had blood coming out of his nose and they couldn’t tell me why. To them talking about trying to rotate him although he was a bigger guy, they said they would do it every 12 hours.

One or 2 days later, they called stating he needed kidney dialysis of which I questioned and demanded more answers. How can I authorize a treatment with little to no inform about his well being although I knew that retaining waste in the body was bad. So I said yes, the nurse did dialysis and had to end it because his blood pressure was really high. How odd? Now another problem he hasn’t had before. The next night they called and said he went into cardiac arrest and they could not resuscitate him and he passed away.

I have been inclined to share this story before, but it is very painful. We were not ready for him to pass away. I would gladly share this story if it helps others be educated about what is actually going on.
