The Interview with Chris Champion
My Tom’s Story
Written by Chris Champion(Wife)

Chris Champion carries the weight of a tragic story that is, unfortunately, not unique. Her testimony is one of hundreds that the COVID Humanity Betrayal Memory Project (CHBMP) has painstakingly documented, a chilling testament to a system that appears to have failed when humanity needed it the most. Chris’s narrative is both personal and painfully universal, a single thread in the tapestry of heartbreak that the COVID-19 pandemic has woven.

Her tale begins with the illness of her beloved husband, Tom. A  man adored by his daughters, grandchildren, and siblings. Tom was an Air Force, Vietnam veteran and retired deputy sheriff. He helped anyone who needed it and was a man of faith and integrity. The family was convinced that Tom was receiving the best possible care for his symptoms, which were classified as COVID-19. They trusted the hospital, they trusted the doctors, and they clung to the hope that their beloved Tom would pull through.

However, the reality was far more grim. The treatment protocol that was being applied to Tom was based on the use of remdesivir, a drug that had been pulled from the market in 2013 due to its lethal side effects. Despite this, Tom’s caregivers assured the family that he was receiving the best possible care. In Chris’s words, it was this treatment protocol that ultimately led to Tom’s tragic death. His loss has left an indelible mark on Chris and her family, leading to job loss, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and a life overwhelmed by grief and loss.

Chris’s words echo with the pain of betrayal. She mourns not only for her husband, but for the faith she once had in the healthcare system. Her regret is palpable as she reflects on her choices, wishing she had avoided the hospital and its protocol at all costs. Her experience paints a picture of a healthcare system where profit appears to take precedence over patient welfare, a system that seems to have lost sight of its primary principle: Do no harm.

Yet, amidst the depths of her despair, Chris finds the courage to share her story. Her strength is not merely in the face of personal tragedy, but also in the midst of a healthcare crisis that has seen too many suffer in the same way. By speaking out, she gives voice to the silent suffering of countless others who have faced similar circumstances, hoping to bring about change and to prevent others from experiencing the same pain.

The COVID Humanity Betrayal Memory Project (CHBMP) has captured over 1,000 stories like Chris’s, each a testament to the devastating impact of questionable COVID-related protocols and policies. Of these, over 800 have been published, and they continue to pour in at a pace that’s challenging to keep up with. The project, spearheaded by the FormerFedsGroup Foundation and driven by a task force composed mainly of victims and their spouses who have had similar experiences, is dedicated to shedding light on these egregious crimes against humanity and working tirelessly to bring them to an end.

Chris’s heartbreaking story is a call to action. It urges everyone who has suffered at the hands of COVID-related policies or protocols to document their experiences at CHBMP.org. By standing together, by voicing our collective outrage and grief, we can hope to prevent such betrayals from happening in the future. Chris’s narrative is a solemn reminder that each statistic represents a real person, a life filled with love and memories, a person who deserved better. We must heed her call, for Tom, for her, for all the Chris and Tom’s out there, for humanity.

This is one of many stories we have documented for our COVID-19 Humanity Betrayal Memory Project, a living archive of individuals harmed by crimes against humanity throughout the pandemic. If you have a story you would like to share, please submit it here. You can browse more documented cases of humanity betrayal below. If you feel this is important, please share this page to your social media pages – and since it will probably be censored from social media, take the extra step of emailing it to your friends and family. Thank you for helping us raise awareness of the terrible ordeal our public health agencies have put these people through, so that we can try to prevent crimes against humanity like these from happening to anyone else.
