My mom started showing symptoms December 12, 2021. We have found the source of her getting sick (at her work as a bus aide). She went to urgent care on December 13, 2021, and tested positive. No medication like Paxlovid given.
My mom called the doctor mid week that week, and nothing was given to help her. On December 18, 2021, my mom went to another urgent care where she was taken to Saratoga hospital by ambulance.
While in hospital, she was not monitored often. She would lay in her room for hours without being checked on. At one point, they checked her oxygen on her finger,and it looked okay, so they lowered oxygen for a long time. They were scheduling her to be discharged, but my mom reached out to us to say she didn’t think she was able to go home, because she was having a hard time breathing. They came back in to recheck her oxygen levels and realized her previous oxygen test was inaccurate, because nurse used her finger and she had fake nails on. They then realized they made a mistake, and she was NOT being discharged.
They gave my mom Remdesivir for 8 days. After that she quickly declined, and was treated poorly.
She was placed on the vent on January 2, 2022. We were not able to see her at all prior to ventilation. My mom was scared and alone with no one!!!! She was deprived of water, food, and attention.
On January 7th, they called us to say when the nurse went in to check her. she noticed her heart had stopped and they began CPR. Why were alarms not going off to notify them her heart stopped?? Why was she not being monitored closely in the ICU????
We are so devastated with the things that took place and losing our mom. We know the hospital made several mistakes, and the records have several discrepancies. We want justice for my mom!!!!!!!!!!
