My father was not well kept by the hospital.  He was convinced that being ventilated would give his body the break it needed to heal the one lung that had fluid in it.

He was very susceptible to mold and they ventilated him in anyway, with his airways open, which in turn, put him into septic shock.

When we saw him on the morning he passed away, on the 23 of September, he had black mold all over his face and he was bare naked.  The hospital staff didn’t even have the decency to cover him up knowing his two daughters and wife were coming to see him, nor did the staff tell us he was gone. Yet, there were about eight or nine people in the room, and they all scattered like cockroaches when we walked in without anyone saying anything to us.

I ran over to my dad and held his hand and was trying to root him on because I had not realized he was gone yet.  My mom turned to the head nurse and asked him what was next, and he told her to call the funeral home and walked out of the hospital room.

At that time, I was 32 and I had to pull my little sister out of the room from where my dad was lying. Not a single soul in the hospital approached us to let us know what it happened, what was going on and what to do next.

They did not test my dad for Covid until September 13, and he was negative.  They still left him with an open airway in the Covid ward until he died on the 23 of September.

We tried several times to tell the nurses we wanted him to try ivermectin because we were hearing things about Remdesivir from other friends and family members. They refused to let us give it to him.

They allowed us to bring his favorite drinks.  We had to drop them off at the front desk of the hospital and they would bring it up to him.  We tried to sneak in ivermectin but that didn’t work.

My father was 55 years old and he had no pre-existing conditions.  I am a litigation paralegal, and I requested all of his medical records and bills immediately after his death.  I used to work in personal injury, so I know how to read medical records pretty well.  I noticed a lot of discrepancies, and they also called him a smoker, which he was not.

In the progress notes, daily, they would remind the next nurse that he wasn’t vaccinated. They never gave my father a Covid test from the get-go, treated him for it and then slapped it on his death certificate as a second reason.

My father only had one bad lung with fluid in it. The other lung was fine, and he ended up getting mold from their machine or ventilator. When I saw my father‘s face the morning he died, it was covered in mold all around his mouth. They didn’t even have the decency to cover him up with a sheet.   He was bare-naked.  No one walked us out of the hospital, no one told us what was next, we just walked out like another cattle number.

After getting the records back, I was pretty sick to my stomach.  In Nevada, they voted in a one-year statute of limitations to go after hospitals for medical malpractice, which has come and gone at this point.  I’m really not interested in money but I do want justice for my family and how we were treated. My father deserved dignity and he died without it.

He is also quoted saying in his medical records, before they took him up to be ventilated, he said, “This is where I go to die.”  My father knew. He was very healthy and never had problems with his kidneys and then I looked through the records, and he had a kidney injury from that Remdesivir they were giving him.

I live in Florida, and I flew out to Las Vegas for weeks while he was admitted.  I talked to the hospital twice a day.  I didn’t care how annoyed they got.  They lied to me through the whole thing, and they said, “If I didn’t hear from the doctor, it was good news.”

The only time I spoke with the doctor was the day before he was ventilated, and she assured me that his body would be rested and his lung would heal.  They killed him instead.

Afterwards, I called Dr. Chetta, and nobody returned my call. I called quality assurance.  I called sister hospitals.  I called the company that owns Centennial Hills hospital in Las Vegas, and nobody returned my phone call.

My dad was admitted from August 30, 2021 to September 23, 2021, and he was never even assigned a case manager through the hospital.  Their excuse was that he was moved around too many times, which was a lie.

Another thing I noticed in his medical records was just three days or so before he died, they moved him from the Covid ward to a different ward… I thought that to be strange considering they tested him on September 13 and he was negative for Covid.  He died 10 days later.

This has been such a hardship on my family.  They took our patriarch.  He was so healthy, and he was chief of party for land surveying in Las Vegas, Nevada where the heat is 115°. He never had any medical issues. The hospital convinced him that the ventilator would get him out of there… it did, he’s just not where he should be – with us.
