Mark had not been feeling well for about 2 weeks. I had been running a fever of 103, 104 for almost a eight days. Mark called in sick which is something he never did. We monitored him throughout the day. As we were sitting on the back porch, he started looking very pale. I checked his oxygen levels and they had dropped into the 70’s. I called my sister and she got Mark to the hospital.  He spent nearly 24 hrs. in the ER. He tested positive for Covid, and his chest x-ray showed that he did have pneumonia.

My sister had to sit in the car and wait. While she was there she told them not to give Mark remdesivir as both of us knew the harmful side effects of the drug.  We knew about the studies and about it’s use in Africa. He agreed not to let them give it to him.  Once Mark went on oxygen he started feeling better. But because he couldn’t keep his oxygen levels up he was admitted. Mark was a diabetic controlled with diet and pills. He also had gallbladder issues that caused his liver enzymes to be high.

Mark trusted the doctors to do the right things concerning his health. Due to the fact that I was sick Mark and I agreed that my sister would be his advocate and contact. While she was in charge they did not give him remdesivir.  On the 14th without consulting me the hospital placed his daughter  in charge of his care. She agreed to let them use the remdesivir, but had little knowledge of what it was.  The hospital also tried to replace her as my advocate without my knowledge. My sister called me and told me what was going on. Later a nurse came in and was quite irate that I did not want My sister removed. Before I knew it they had already given Mark the first doses. They didn’t even allow us to talk about it. During this time Mark was upset that they wouldn’t let him get out of bed, he couldn’t get water when he need it, and meals where few and mostly uneatable.

That I can agree with as I was having the same issues in my room. Do to limiting exposure and preserving PPE nurses only came to the rooms when absolutely necessary.  We were only a few doors apart. On the 15th I was told Mark was feeling better. We were told he was going to be discharged, that he might make it out before me, if he continued to improve. I am not sure what happened on the 15th, 16th, 17th, And those days are missing from his records. I am in the process of trying to get them.  On the 18th he took a turn for the worst by the 20th he was intubated and on the 22 the doctor called and told me Mark’s blood pressure was dangerously low, he was having organ and renal failure, he was showing sings of brain damage due to lack of oxygen, his heart was going to stop and did Mark have a DNR.

I was at home on an oxygen machine. Because I would not follow hospital protocol, the hospital discontinued all supportive treatment except oxygen and  sent me home.  Anyway I consulted with other family members and all agreed that Mark would not want to be in a vegetative state. As he was the one to honor his mothers DNR, he had said that’s what he wanted us to do for him. Shortly after I verified this to the doctor they called me back and told me he had passed.

It was then recommended to me that to limit contact with his body as he still had Covid , it would be best to have him cremated. If I had known then what I know now and had not been having trouble with Covid brain fog I would not have had him cremated I would have had an autopsy done.  We were denied the use of Monoclonal Antibodies, HCQ, Ivermectin and other remedies, and vitamins such as D3, Zinc, C.  I believe 100% Remdesivir and hospital protocols killed Mark. 4 weeks after Mark passed our Niece passed due to the same protocols. In December My brother-in-law passed, same protocols. Those of us that did not follow them are still here.
