On Aug.10th 2021, my husband was tired and unsure why, so he just rested.  On Aug. 11th, I had to run errands and he wasn’t feeling up to it, so he stayed home and rested. We had been on an Ivermectin once a week for about 5 weeks for prevention. He took his weekly on the Aug. 10th, 2mml, and I with 1mml. Later on the 11th, he started feeling like he was getting a fever, so I went to the store and bought a Covid test. He tested positive, but I was negative.  He then took on the 11th, 2mml of Ivermectin and went to bed. My husband and I promised each other no hospitals!

On Aug. 12th 2021, my husband got up and was not able to keep his balance. He was standing next to the bed and I told him to lay down then he started mumbling. I immediately called my daughter, freaking out, and she said to call 911. I gave the EMTs all of my husband’s prescriptions he was taking along with the bottle of Ivermectin which was empty only because we shared it with several families and because he had it in his system. I felt they should include it. My daughter (she’s a respiratory therapist), met her dad at the hospital and I drove down with her boyfriend. I was in the waiting room to speak to the doctor, but he never came to see me.  Instead, he persisted to question my daughter and my daughter told him I don’t know you can talk to my mom she’s in the waiting room. When she pulled her phone out so he could talk with me, he said no.

My husband was in and out of his thoughts because he fought the doctor when they were putting IVs in him.  They gave him a sedative and strapped him down. Looking at my husband’s records, the doctor said my daughter filled him in with all his information. So my husband was misdiagnosed because the doctor choose not to speak with me. The doctor had already decided that my husband was having an Ivermectin overdose which was not true.   He had made up his mind, that Joe drank a whole bottle of Ivermectin.  Instead of treating him for Covid, which he had tested positive at the hospital, the doctor called in Poison Control to see how long it was going to take to get the Ivermectin out of his system.

I spoke with nurses on both the morning shifts and night shifts to get updates on my husband.  They were polite and would tell me what the doctors were testing Joe for. I kept asking about speaking with a doctor and finally a nurse got a doctor to call me.  I finally talked with a doctor 7 days after my husband was admitted to the hospital.  The first thing out of his mouth was,  Ivermectin is a good drug, but you can’t drink the whole bottle. I corrected him and told him actually what happened and asked if they were treating him for Covid?  He said that the window had passed on the treatment and they were going to do more test. My husband was so sedated he could not talk to me.  All he could do was mumble. He did mumble that he loved me too and then mumbled something else saying he was serious.

I’m sure he could hear what they were saying and I feel like they labeled him.  He had just lost the bridge in his mouth and was so embarrassed.  Our dentist was recovering from a back surgery and unavailable.  My husband also had long white hair that I braided and he was a bit over weight, but all those things together and you get a label. I have just now allowed myself to look through his medical records and it breaks my heart how heartless people can be. By reading his records, he was treated with antipsychotic drugs, sleep medications, sedatives, mental disorder, and seizure medications.   He would fight them because he was trying to get out. He knew they were going to kill him.

I feel that the worst doctor was the one that called me at 12:30 am to scream at me to let me let her let my husband die. I told her to back off and that she was not going to touch him. I was on my way and she said you won’t make it. The next day I spoke to the head doctor and told him he needed to figure out how to get control over his doctors practices by not speaking with patients families for over a week which should have never happened. He said he would look into it. He also told me he wasn’t going to let my husband suffer.  Later that afternoon the nurse that was taking care of Joe, called me and asked if the doctor told me about comfort care, “I said no, what is it?”  She explained that it was when your loved one was passing, you could be there with them. I replied that I’d like to do that and I said yes. I asked her when she said now.
