Jonathon Goscinski Sr. – Interview with his son Jonathon Goscinski Jr
My dad was an icon. He made a difference in a lot of peoples lives. He had a company, he was in Real-estate. So many people came to him for jobs during the 2008 recession. He would give people jobs, a place to live, money. He was generous and caring. He would make people laugh and always had a great attitude even in the worst of situations.
In 2021, he got Covid. The whole family got Covid. At first it didn’t seem to impact him much. He even went out for a couple of rides on the motorcycle to get fresh air. Then he started having a few issues and he went to the hospital and got Covid. He ended up being sent to Ascension. That is when it took a turn for the worse.
They gave him high flow oxygen. They isolated him. My mom fought like crazy to stay with him. A day or two after he entered the hospital she couldn’t see him anymore. They pushed hard for a ventilator from the start. The news was up and down. While he was intubated they overlooked a heart attack that he had.
Four days straight it was good news. They said they were gearing up to get him breathing on his own. Then within a matter of hours they said we needed to get to the hospital. They told us they needed to just make him comfortable and allow him to pass.
We were allowed to come in and say our final goodbyes. They came in and gave us a list of what they had him on.
Never had issues with kidney’s so it was surprising that they suddenly failed him. I lost my dad, and I worked hard to save money and my dad and I were going to become business partners. Lost my dad, friend and mentor. The whole family still struggles and they miss him.
