Lauren’s mom, Ina, was also her best friend in life. Although Ina, 76, had comorbidities, her outlook on life was joyful. Lauren and Ina lived a modest lifestyle but rich with abundant love.
A sequence of events forever changed both their lives. Ina had a new medicine prescribed. Her adverse reaction to it caused a hospitalization from which she recovered.
However, an additional reaction necessitated a blood transfusion in a different hospital.
Lauren has more than most when it comes to patient advocacy. With her mom’s POA in hand, she was advised her mother had tested positive for Covid. A nightmare in failed communication, arrogant responses to valid questions, and disregard to patient’s rights, began.
As a loving daughter, Lauren tried desperately to obtain information. The staff was fully aware, as noted in medical records, no Remdesivir was to be administered. The staff gave it to Ina we believe and we know she was given Haldol without her consent. She was also forced her on high flow oxygen. This resulted in re-admittance to the ICU on a ventilator.
There Ina was given a deadly combination of fentanyl, morphine, and numerous vassopressors. The need for vassopressors was likely from the adverse effects of the haldol, which Lauren never was informed of nor gave consent.
When Lauren indicated she wanted to transfer mom to hospice care, the drastic measures increased. Isolated, alone, Lauren was blocked from being with her best friend. However, she was granted the last 20 minutes of her Mother’s life, where she held her hand. Sadly, Ina passed away that night, Feb 1, 2022.
Tortured by her mom’s plea of “Get me out of here”, Lauren’s best friend, love of her life was taken from her.
Lauren is haunted by guilt, thinking she hadn’t done enough. Simply not true.
Lauren, and thousands of others, had been trapped in a system that incentivizes a death protocol and rewards the deaths with financial benefits for euthanizing people under the auspices of a Covid protocol.
What do you think? Are the elderly, disabled, and minorities being targeted? Does your vaccine status determine your level of “care”?
Lauren is convinced that that is true… She is not alone. Lauren is turning her pain into a search for justice, not only for her mom but all who have endured great losses in their lives.
