Surviving the Battlefield
I was admitted into hospital, my oxygen was stable in high 80s low 90s. Next day given Remdesivir, and when I got up to go to bathroom.. I could hardly breathe. My breathing and oxygen got worse. I told the doctor’s assistant that I didn’t want any of the Remdesivir because it was making me worse. She said she would change it but she didn’t.
They kept giving it to me until refused to take any more on the 5th day. I found out recently that the hospital continued to give me Remdesivir for 5 more days after I and the Infectious disease doctor told them to stop it immediately. On February 9th, I had a code blue, and was placed on ventilator.
Later in February, I was transferred to a hospital in Louisville, KY where I stayed there and had other complications. By Gods mercy, I survived and was able to get some rehabilitation. I was released to come home on May 28, 2021. I was continued on oxygen and needed full time daily care. I have much more to tell in interview.
