On Oct 2nd 2021 my mothers O2 level was 78. That scared me. So my sister and I called the ambulance. When the paramedics arrived they refused to come in the house to go get her. And bring a chair for her. OMG was our reaction. They put a full oxygen mask on and the 02 was going up.

They then asked if vaccinated. We said no. Then we asked if they can give us the oxygen mask for her since she used it already and her oxygen was going up. She has an oxygen tank in her room. She did not want to go to the hospital. The paramedic said if you don’t he’ll be back in a few hours to intubate her and she will die. We said why are you scaring us like that. Reluctantly we let her go. And I followed.

When we arrived at the hospital they would not let me go in with her. I said that I always go back with her. I’m her eye’s, ears and voice. Mind you that I had to take my mom to the ER on July 25th, 2020 for a UTI infection and they let me be with her the whole time. Along with a scan they did. So why couldn’t I go back now with her? The biggest mistake was leaving her in the hands of this hospital.

My mother has Alzheimer’s. She also can’t understand when talked to because of her hearing with or without her aids. Her communication is her phone for that reason. We only got to zoom her 2 days. At one point, I asked my mom if she was in pain and she said no. But she said the sore on her nose and chin hurt. That’s why she kept grabbing the mask. We told the nurse about that n then they cut us off from zoom, so we told mom to use her phone…..they would not charge her phone let alone let her have her phone.

We all told them that is her way to communicate and they said they don’t have time to charge her phone. My mom knows how to plug her phone to the cord they wouldn’t plug to the wall. She kept saying to my niece they are mean to me. We tried to get my mom home and they said she will die. Also that she can’t be removed with a bipap on.

They did nothing but frighten us. My mother was neglected, abused, isolated. She was lying in her feces and urine complaining of being cold. My sister said to the CNA to document this and get her cleaned up. To this day my sister kicks herself that she didn’t take a photo of it. As well as the sore on nose and chin. No one deserves what she endured. It is wrong and I cannot accept this.
