He was sent home covid positive on 6th of August 2021. Doxycycline prescribed. He got worse and I took him to the local hospital because I was still recovering from covid. He was admitted to Bothwell on the 6th. Doctor called me that night and said he may need to vent him soon and was not consenting. I convinced my husband to do it if he needed to rest his lungs as they told me.

I requested transfer to Colmbia. Mo. Truman VA Hospital. They called and said they paralyzed him and vented before transport. When VA nurse called that night on 7th, she said that they may have to do dialysis. (I didn’t know at that time that LeRoy was in acute kidney failure when admitted on the  6th).

After days of vent, meds, proning, his kidneys got worse and worse. They would not let me see him, We had a family meeting a week before he passed, we could not go in his room even though he was covid free, they said he isn’t getting better, we said don’t give up on him. I asked on phone for hcq or ivermectin, they denied. I asked how they nourished him about 6 days before he died and they said they stopped nourishment, I was not told that beforehand. They said you could visit on the 26th, as I arrived ,they said he was not going to make it, so the kids all came and we said goodbye.
