On December 31,2021 I took my husband Jose J Isaac Jr. to Kaiser South to seek medical treatment as to he was not feeling well. His symptoms we very drained and no motivation to even get out of bed which was not like him. However, when I took him in, they refused to allow me to assist my husband to walk him in to the emergency room. Even though I am fully vaccinated, the security guard told me I had to go get a clearance card from the other side of the building. Still my husband was left to stager and stand in line as he was so weak.

After getting a index card that stated I was able to be with my husband we sat in the ER for more than 6 hours before they ever evaluated him. I was not able to even go back there with him. He had to call me from his phone so I could explain to the nurses what was going on and his medical history. I received a call 4-5 hours later stated that they were going to admit my husband due to covid-19. It was all down hill from there.

My husbands health declined more and more everyday. We were not allowed to visit him. Contact was only by phone. I had to take him a charger for his cell phone. That was the only way to physically see him. As well as for him to see our three (3) children and myself. On January 6th I received a phone call from my husband stating that he was moved to ICU. He said that they (the staff) said that they had spoken to me and told me everything. At that moment, I was not aware of anything. I told my husband I would call him back.

I called the nurses station and they gave no information on why they moved him. A doctor called me a short time later and told me that since my husband has been on 100% oxygen he needed to be looked at closer. To do so was to move him to ICU. The following day he was placed on a ventilator were his health declined even at a more rapid speed.

On 1/9/2022 the Dr. called me and told me I could visit my husband for 15 minutes. But I had to be fully gowned up. Which I was fine with. I asked if my children could go in with me. They said no. About 6 hours later, I received a phone call from a different doctor. Telling me that I needed to come say goodbye. That my husband was not going to make it thru the night. I asked again if my children could come with me. They asked the ages. At the time they were 23,18,13.

Our two oldest were allowed in. However, our youngest who was fully vaccinated was denied to say her good bye to her father. My husband passed away 20 minutes after my two oldest and myself got to the hospital. He passed away at 12:32 A.M. on January 10th, 2022.
