Karol’s husband John feel sick around 12/30/2021 and was admitted to the hospital on 1/01/2022. The whole experience was terrible. Karol got no updates from the doctors or nurses, in fact, the only time they called her was to question her why she didn’t want him to have remdesivir. Since John already had kidney issues, it is questionable why Karol had to inform the doctor that is was not supposed to be used on anyone with kidney problems. For some reason they really wanted him to be on that medication. Still he got one dose and the typical effects starting taking place. His his kidneys were effected and black stuff was coming out of his lungs. They denied the other treatments that Karol requested. However, she got some good news that John was going to be discharged on Jan 6th and was going to recover at home. But late that night she got a call that John was dying. By the time she got there he was passed. Strangely, the Fitbit that John wore showed he died a full hour before they even called Karol.

She regrets taking him to the hospital. She said, “If I  knew then  what I know now, I would of never taken him to that hospital. I could of done better than they did.” Karol noticed his monitors had been turned off and he was off the oxygen, she will always wonder if that contributed to his death.
