On 7/24/21, my husband came down with Covid-19.  When he was unable to catch his breath, I took him to the emergency room at Shoreline in Corpus Christi.  He had to wait for about nine hours, and was given a little bit of oxygen and some fluids and sent home.  We realized he was made to wait because he was unvaccinated.

Two days later, we took him to Doctors Regional in Corpus Christi to the emergency room.  He went in for shortness of breath and a fever of 102 degrees.  He was put into a regular room after being in the ER for two days, because they had no rooms available.

They put him on a BiPAP machine. They would bring him food, but would not remove the BiPAP machine causing him to become weaker. He was not allowed to eat because they said that he had to keep the BiPAP machine on.

He was given the drug remdesivir the first time at the hospital in a regular room.   They didn’t have enough nurses on the regular hall.  After complaints of no one attending to my husband, they moved him to ICU at that point to get better care, they said.  Although he had around-the- clock care, they kept giving him medicine for anxiety, which he did not have anxiety until they gave him those meds. I had to request them take them off of those anxiety meds.

You could tell that they didn’t want any family members in the ICU.  I was harassed daily about getting the Covid vaccine. I was harassed daily about bringing my computer for work there. I was harassed daily about my cell phone.  Anything they could do to try to make my life miserable so I wouldn’t go see my husband had been every single day.

They would tell me that I could spread Covid with my cell phone or with my computer, but yet my hair wasn’t covered. My feet weren’t covered so I didn’t understand how I could transfer Covid with my cell phone but not by walking in the elevator with my shoes that had been all over the hospital floor.  It’s not like these doctors and nurses weren’t going home after seeing my husband, or to the grocery store, or to the movies, or to live their daily lives.  Yet they were trying to keep everybody out of the ICU so no one would question what they were doing.

His second round of the drug remdesivir was given in the ICU. At this time, mentioned how amazing it was that his kidneys had held up.  I realize now that that drug was killing patients from the inside.

The night my husband was vented, I left the ICU, and he was talking… he was fine.  The BiPAP machine was on. He never complained about not being able to catch his breath.  When I called in the morning trying to get a hold of him on his cell phone, he didn’t answer. I kept calling the hospital, and when I finally got a nurse she said don’t be surprised if he’s vented when you get here, and I said don’t vent him. I’m on my way.  Of course when I got there, he was vented and they had punctured his lung  It was all downhill from there.

I fought constantly with the doctors on treatment, but was told they couldn’t do anything because he wasn’t vaccinated.  Several people I know got other treatments… but they got the shot.  They were withholding food and meds from people who chose not to get vaccinated.

APWhat a sorry world we live in.  I was told they wouldn’t treat him for pneumonia because it was Covid pneumonia and there was nothing they could do.
