My father, Zane Carson, contracted Covid-19 just before Christmas of 2021. He sought medical treatment before heading straight to the hospital. At that time, most doctors wouldn’t treat C-19 patients and it was a headache to get into their office.

I spoke with him on the phone Monday, December 27, 2021. He said he was doing bad, and I got him on the phone with the monoclonal antibodies office. They gave him the run around about getting them. He was finally able to see a doctor on Wedneday. December 29, 2021. That doctor prescribed him Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine and the monoclonal antibodies.  He received the antibodies infusion on Friday, the 31st, nearly a week after I tried to get him straight in the infusion center.  All this red tape delayed his treatment.

On January 1, 2022, he went to Round Rock Medical Center.  He stayed maybe a day and then was transferred to Ascension Seton Hospital in Downtown Austin, Texas. There, he began his Remdesivir treatment. He had between 4 – 6 doses of it.  We know of four (4) and think there might have been two (2) more administered; we are waiting on the records. Why are we waiting on the records, you ask?  Round Rock sent us their medical records, upon request.  Seton sent back the check that was sent to pay for the records, and said they couldn’t release them. I will be working on getting the records vigorously in the near future.

While in the hospital he was allowed one (1) visitor only. That one person was his wife, Lisa. I was unable to go to the hospital because of the restrictions on visitors.  Around January 8th, Zane was feeling better and released from ICU to a regular room.  That lasted less than 24 hours, when he started to cough up blood on Sunday the 9th.

Monday the 10th, I got a call from Lisa stating his lung had collapsed and they were placing him on a ventilator. (I was involved in a bad car accident in which my buddy was driving.  He spent several months in the hospital and had a collapsed lung during that time, so I was worried for my father, but I had seen it before, so my concern level wasn’t too high.)

On Tuesday January 11, 2022, about 9 a.m.,  I was at work getting ready to leave for my route when Lisa called me frantically saying the doctors wanted to do dialysis on my father, but his wishes were to never do dialysis.  As a former fireman, he saw what that led to in people.  I told Lisa I would head to the hospital and I would make that decision, and he could be mad at me about it.  My father was in a drug induced coma at this time, due to the collapsed lung.

I arrived shortly at the hospital and said let’s talk to the doctor. The doctor came out a couple of HOURS later. She asked what my hopes were for my father.  All I knew was they wanted to do dialysis and needed a decision. She said there was no saving him, and the best thing they could do was make him comfortable. In a matter of hours, it went from him needing dialysis to basically being dead.

After we (Lisa and I) spoke with the doctor about that, Lisa told me a fireman buddy of my dad told her to not let him take Remdesivir and that it was killing people. That was the first time I’ve heard the horrors of that poison. I have since done research and have seen how bad it is. I do not want people to have to go through what my family has.  I am not silent about it.  My was just 63 years and still full of life.
