My husband became ill on December 26,2021. He is a Navy veteran and uses the VA hospital in Cape Coral, FL for his medical needs. He was seen there in early December for the usual check up and had an established physician there. Tony had controlled asthma which was part of his records. They had prescribed medication for his asthma. After becoming ill he called the doctor office to see if there was anything they could give him to treat his symptoms. They advised him to just stay home and treat with over the counter meds. Which he did without any relief.

He called again a couple days later as he was feeling worse with the over the counter drugs and they still advised him to stay home and treat with OTC drugs. He continued to decline. On January 1 early evening he called his doctor yet again for help and she advised him to stay home and maybe go out on Monday after the holiday weekend and try to get a COVID test and then find somewhere in the state of Florida that was giving out monoclonal antibody treatment. Needless to say at 3 a.m. my husband woke me up and said he could not breathe and to call 911 which I did. They took him to hospital and I went after ambulance.

They came out and told me he had bilateral bacterial pneumonia and they had started him on antibiotics. I asked to go see him and they said “we should probably do a covid test”. And of course they came back 45 minutes later and said I could not see him because it was positive. He was texting me all throughout the day and then said they wanted to admit him so they took him to Health Park to admit him. He was in a regular room for 2 days then they put him in ICU as his condition worsened.

They started the remdesivir right away at the first health center and he had a stroke within 24 hours and then just deteriorated daily. He was on nasal cannula and bi-pap off and on with OK settings and then they ventilated him on January 10 and called me and said he was OK with it. I find it hard to believe that he didn’t ask to talk to me first so I have no idea what really happened with that. My husband was an extremely healthy and fit man. He golfed 4 times a week, walked 3 miles daily and ate healthy.

I believe that if the VA doctor would have prescribed an antibiotic when he first called or at least told him to come in so she could see him and listen to his lungs he would be here today. She is a murderer as well as the hospital that used the remdesivir. I have contacted several attorneys in Florida but cannot find one to take the case of malpractice and murder.
