I caught Covid Delta July 2, 2021. The cough and fever. I was called in a “z pack,” and was taking Ivermectin once a week.
After a shower I could not breathe. My son called an ambulance. I couldn’t walk to the ambulance. I was in desperate need of oxygen. I went to the closest hospital but asked to be transferred to a larger one, Tampa General.
The hospital, Advent, would not release me. I called my sister to come get me and take me to TGH, however, security and hospital administrators would not let me leave. The police were called and my sister was tress passed. [Sister escorted out by police.]
I called the doctor I was working for and she became my advocate. I was in the emergency room then transported to the Covid unit, and given protocol meds.
I asked for Ivermectin, vitamin C, D, and zinc. They were all denied. I was put on a ventilator and had a total of 9 surgeries including 6 chest tubes (one bedside surgery without pain medication). I was in an induced coma for about 2 weeks. Then back and forth between CCU hand ICU. My family was told to take me off life support and to make funeral arrangements. I fought hard. I was scared and did not want to die. I was worried about my special needs son.
I was finally bathed after coming out of the coma. My hair was not ever washed. My hair fell out like a cancer patient. My skin flaked off in layers like corn flakes.
The night shift was the worst. My call button was removed from me so I could not get help. I did, however, keep my cell phone by my side and wound often texting my advocate.
I hadn’t been changed in over 12 hrs. My diaper and gown were wet. My lips and mouth were dry swollen and cracked with teeth now missing. My crowns were knocked out during my hospital stay. I have no recollection about this. My teeth were not brushed nor assistance in cleaning my teeth or hair were given. I was constantly jabbed and given bad pic lines blow outs.
After several months, I had the ventilator removed and started a liquid diet. I had ordered liposomal vitamin C, and my advocate brought it to me with liposomal gluthione. I, myself, would put it in my juice and then hide the empty wrappers. I took 3 packs a day.
I went to rehab with a chest tube in an hour away. While in rehab, I filled an online complaint that I had been there 10 days, and no one came to clean the chest tube or wound care. The were no diapers or butt sore medicine. I ordered my own and kept them in my room.
After the complaint in rehab, they ordered x-rays at 10 pm. The next morning, I was sent back to the hospital (this time a hospital of my choice). I went to st Joseph’s. There, the chest tube was cleaned and later removed.
I went to another rehab where I was able to use a walker and have supervised showers. I was on oxygen 100%, 3 liters and in a wheelchair. I told rehab I was going home for Thanksgiving, and I did. I was given home health, PT, oxygen and a wheelchair.
In December, I went to see my new pulmonologist and asked what my prognosis was. I had IPF and 6 months to live. I took it as a challenge, and worked hard on breathing treatments, vitamins reading and studying; anything that would or could help me. I bought a vibrating plate that I started with just my feet on to shake up the mucus in my lungs, to get my body some exercise and moving. I could use a walker soon afterwards. I was taking NAC; DMSO; mega dose vitamin C, orally and injection; and gluthione injections. I read about Chinese herbs and enzymes which would remove scar tissue, so I took max levels of serrapeptase, nattocanise and lumbekanise (dead protein enzymes). I read where metformin helps lung fibrosis and found Berberine to be a natural form of metformin. The DMSP was incredibly effective for pain management.
I started pulmonary rehab at the hospital. My sister took me 3 times a week. I improved but not as fast as I would have liked. I was down to 2 liters of oxygen, walking some short distances on my own. My left leg would drag like a stroke victim. I grew stronger and stronger. I improved my lungs from 26% capacity to 47% in 6 months. Then improved to 67% a year. I have had several setbacks with pneumonia every month, and on steroids and antibiotics. I am using oxygen as needed. I can walk almost a mile. I drive. I am however on disability.
I can live independently once again. I have included Methylene Blue and probiotics improving gut health and bacteria. I also use healing frequently machine to help with my recovery.
My pulmonologist and everyone around me say that I am a miracle. I also believe this. My faith has been very strong and has gotten me through this alive.
