Still being friends with my ex after our divorce, he informed me that he came down with COVID-19 and was having a difficult time. I had some ivermectin and asked if he’d like me to send it to him.  He was pretty excited when I told him I’d get that in the mail that afternoon.  It arrived at his place on Monday (I’d sent it out on the Friday prior).  His wife took him into the hospital the day it arrived and withheld it from him and took it herself (even though she didn’t have any comorbidities, and he did, diabetes).

He got progressively worse in the hospital to the point they gave him remdesivir, (His brother, daughter and I were able to talk to him on the phone and through text messages.) and we advised him to refuse the remdesivir, but he placed his trust in the doctors and began to have renal failure. It was around this time they put him on the ventilator.

At this point the doctors were mostly speaking with his wife, and she was adamant that they were both in agreement that his life wouldn’t be worth living if he got out of the hospital and they put him on the end-of-life track.  Family was then allowed to come visit him.  Our daughter went to visit him on numerous occasions, and during those visits, we would facetime.  He was lucid and in great spirits, and we believe, more hopeful…. until the wife came in and made sure he wasn’t going to change his mind about her plans for him and the insurance payout.  One week after his 59th birthday, (our daughter was present) they took him off the ventilator.  He was breathing on his own and coherent, so, the doctors upped his dosage of morphine and midazolam until he expired.

My current husband who is also a type II diabetic, had almost the identical experience in a hospital in Spokane, however, he lied about his vaxxine status and was treated much better.  I made sure through constant telephone calls that he was not given remdesivir or placed on a vent.  He walked out of the hospital a week later.  It is my opinion that my ex was in better physical shape, and managed his diabetes much better than my husband, and if my husband walked out of the hospital, my ex could have as well.  The main difference was having an advocate who wants to see them recovered.

My ex should still be here getting to know his only grandchild.  Instead, he was robbed by an uncaring system and a horrible/complicit partner. (More than complicit, she either had a heck of a fight with him or had some serious insurance on him.)
