I was diagnosed with Covid first and then Mike. We really weren’t concerned because we’re both healthy, mid fifties and no pre-existing conditions. Mike started coughing and it was bad enough that he went to the ER on 2/5/21. They didn’t do anything other than to tell him to get a pulse oximeter and if it was below 80 to come back. They also gave him cough medicine and some type of inhaler if I remember correctly.
He continued to cough and started having shortness of breath. His pulse oximeter kept dropping and early in the am on 2/7/21 he went back to the ER. I never got to see him again. He spent most of that day in the ER and was admitted in the early evening. I didn’t get much information until they called me on 2/9 saying he was really sick and that they were going to vent him to let him rest. I didn’t get to speak with him or any contact. They called me on 2/10 at 1:31am, saying I needed to come to the hospital because he was coding. He passed away at 1:51 am.
