My mother was picked up by ambulance because she incoherent and weak. She was taken to emergency room. Admitted because of COVID diagnosis. They called and told me she wanted to sign a DNR. I was able to speak with her briefly to confirm she didn’t want to sign. I attempted to call for days, with no success. I was called after 5 days saying she agreed to go to a nursing home. I told them my mother would never agree to that. She was released on oxygen and orders to see wound care. We never accomplished seeing wound care for this wound that had gotten worse while she was there. Took her to Ochsner in Waveland, MS, again told wound care would follow up. Services were never followed through with and patient died due to her wound had a tissues eating bacteria that had eaten over 30% of her back during the time she had been treated with the COVID diagnosis.
