Helen Fon’s Story
Helen Fon’s father, Peter Zaloff, got caught in the nursing home and hospital trap.
Peter fell sick around October 25, 2020, in his nursing home. The nursing home called Helen and told her he was going to the hospital, but it was not for Covid. She asked if there was an outbreak in the nursing home her father was in, and they said there were not any cases. She soon found out there were thirty-eight cases that day and sixty-eight cases the next day.
The nursing home sent Peter to the hospital without his regular medications, and without his phone or his glasses. Of course, Peter was isolated from his family, and the hospital was even under the mistaken impression that Peter lived at home with his daughter. When she was finally able to see him, Helen thought Peter looked fine. She told the nurse that she was going to bring him his glasses and phone. The nurse rudely admonished Helen, saying “Don’t worry, he will never need that stuff again.”
There was little to no communication with Helen, who had medical power of attorney, and she did not find out he was even put on a ventilator till after 12 hours after he was intubated. Helen went as far as filing a police report against the hospital for all the lies and mistreatment they subjected her father to.
Unfortunately, Peter passed on November 8th, 2020.
Just another mysterious death surrounded by untruths told by the nursing home and hospital staff.
